Celebrate IMW With Goodly!
March is IMW: International Women’s Month! We’d like to celebrate by introducing you to the team. Of course, since Goodly is a woman-owned company, we tend to think that women should be celebrated all year long, but we do love that Congress has set aside an entire month each year to recognize the achievements and sacrifices made by women, for women.
Women’s History Month actually began as a local celebration in Santa Rosa, California in the 1970’s. A women’s movement spread from this celebration and in 1980 President Carter issued a proclamation declaring the week of March 8th, 1980 as National Women’s History week.
Of course, we deserve more than just a week, and added lobbying caused Congress to get involved, and since 1987 March has been Women’s History Month in the United States. International celebrations followed.
Let’s spend some time with the team of fabulous people who make up Goodly!
Sales Manager J. May

"My favorite part of my job is being able to be part of making employees and clients feel appreciated! It's great to know that our gift boxes are bringing smiles & joy to someone each and every day!"
Outside of work, J May loves to travel. "I love exploring new places and learning about different cultures!"
Sales Manager Jessica Main

See what we mean? Jessica Main is actually the newest Jessica on the team, and so far the only one who gets the first-name-last-name treatment.
"I love talking to our clients, collaborating with them and our team to craft the perfect gift for them to give their employees or clients. Even better is getting amazing feedback from the client once the gifts are received - that everyone loved what was sent!"
Outside of work, Jessica Main's main thing is gardening. "I love roses and have been growing them for years. I have one of my Mom's Cecil Brunner Roses that I’ve moved with me everywhere I’ve lived since 2011."
Marketing Director Brianna

"My favorite thing about working here is being surrounded by not only fun and bright products, but also our team," Brianna says. "We truly support each other, and know how to make each other laugh. Brooke truly values a work/life balance and is incredibly flexible and understanding when personal life takes over."
What hobbies does our fearless marketing director have? "Gosh, watching my two girls play sports, bake, workout and enjoy a glass of wine on the weekends with my husband and friends!"
General Manager Cindy

"My favorite part of the job is working with such an intelligent group of people with really diverse interests. Animal lovers, all, but dog vs. cat vs. bird vs. bunny is a hot topic! Surprisingly, everyone on our team is pretty creative. We have artists, crafters, writers, rockhounds, musicians. It's been my greatest gift to get to know what really fuels my co-workers as humans, and learn something in the process."
Cindy is a big fan of glassblowing. "There is nothing more challenging and frightening than this 'life begins at the edge of your comfort zone' pursuit. It tames my need to control and forces me to trust what happens between the furnace and the finished piece."
Buyer Ashley

She's the quietest member of the Goodly team, but we've heard that the key to good communication is brevity. "My favorite part of the job is seeing our small but mighty team bring creative ideas to life," Ashley says.
Outside of work she likes to watch sports, hang out at the beach, and sleep!
Creative Strategist & Graphic Designer Jess

Meet Jessica #1! "My favorite part about this job is that I am given free reign to explore my creativity both digitally and physically," Jess says.
"Outside of work I love traveling, hunkering down with a good book (paired with a glass of wine), a little sun, a lot of water, and outdoor jaunts with my family and pooch."
eCommerce & Customer Care Specialist Katie

Katie says, "my favorite part about this job is the teamwork vibe. As the saying goes, team work makes the dream work. Our team continues to prove, again and again, that great things are possible when we work together. We each have our own skills that we bring to the table, and are given opportunities to improve these skills, as well as gain new skills. We acknowledge and celebrate one another's contributions, and there is an overall wonderful feeling of connectedness."
Outside of work, you'll most likely find Katie out on the trail. "One of my favorite hobbies is hiking. There are several hiking trails near the warehouse that I can go to after work to get a good dose of nature, fresh air, movement, and mental clarity."
Executive Assistant & Client Account Specialist Josette

What does Josette love about Goodly? "The same value, acceptance and appreciation we give to our customers is shared in the workplace. It’s a very collaborative, all-hands-on-board and empowering work environment/culture. Also, being a mom, the flexibility and support we have to do what we need to do as a parent to be easily accessible and available for our families - sick kids, school drop offs & pick ups, doctor appts, sport games, etc - is priceless."
Outside of work, "Dance is my life. My heart. My vitality. Choreography in the studio or cuttin' it up on the dance floor - it's my happy place." She also loves watching her kids play soccer. "I'm 100% all in it (that competitive spirit), but at least refraining from being obnoxious!"
Copywriter Kathy

Kathy says her favorite part of the job is collaborating with so many different people on so many different projects. "Before I was the copywriter here, I worked in fulfillment and as Ashley’s buying assistant. We’re all creative problem solvers and it’s so much fun to work with people who you know will help elevate your ideas, and knowing you want to do the same for them."
Outside of work you can find Kathy in the gym or out on a trail, running and mountain biking. Also, "I’m a bit of an adrenaline junkie so I’ve tried skydiving, jumping off tall buildings and love solo travel."
Website Coordinator & Buying Assistant Jay

"My favorite part of my job is that I'm able to do most of it remotely," Jay says. "In my case, being neurodivergent means the office environment is distracting and anxiety-inducing. Being comfortable in my own space while working has been a game changer for my productivity, and I have so much more mental energy left at the end of the day! Plus it means that I get to spend more quality time with my birds -- so I'm sure it's their favorite aspect of my job too."
Outside of work you can find them rock climbing. "I have an intense fear of heights and rheumatoid arthritis so this hobby doesn't seem like a natural fit... but it's actually been very healing! Climbing forces me to face my fears and push past my anxiety on the wall. More importantly, it gives me the confidence to explore other things I think I can't do. If I can climb after my diagnosis, then there's a whole host of other "impossible" things for me to try!"
Operations Manager Kylie

Kylie says she loves seeing how creative our entire team is. "Everyone has their own type of magic whether it's related to something they do at work or a hobby outside of the office. Everyone is so supportive of each other's passions and we all encourage each other to keep creating!"
Outside of work, Kylie likes to spend as much time outside as she can. "That tends to involve hiking, backpacking, staring at birds, or maybe picking up some cool looking rocks. I also enjoy trying out local breweries and wineries for some tasty drinks and food with friends."
Founder & CEO Brooke

We'll just leave these here and let you decide.
