As Labor Day passes, we can’t wait for the weather to cool down! Is there any better feeling than that crispness in the air after a hot summer? We’re ready to trade in our tank tops for sweaters and iced coffees for pumpkin spice lattes, so we think this is a perfect time to talk about fall fashion!
We may be a tad biased, but we think autumn is one of the best times to show off your fun novelty socks. Read our three best tips for styling your crazy socks here!
Tip #1: Enjoy your shorts while you can!
While the weather is still transitional, we suggest you let your shorts stick around in your wardrobe before it gets too cold. Women can layer up on top with wraps, kimonos and sweaters, while men can trade in the T-shirts for long-sleeved alternatives. Sure, your knees may be bare, but most folks find they’re still comfortable until the temperature gets down into the 60s or lower.
We thinking rocking shorts into the fall can be a great way to keep showing off those fun patterns on your ankles, particularly if you pair them with autumnal touches like booties and earthy colors.
Tip #2: Pull up those knee highs!
Once you ladies out there do start to get chilly, we suggest upping your sock game to new heights with knee highs! This is the perfect time of year to choose a warmer, taller sock style and rock it with shorts or a dress that still shows off the pattern. Later in the season as it gets even colder out, you can wear knee highs over leggings or skinny jeans. For that, we recommend choosing extra stretchy knee highs from our special wide calf collection.
We have knee high socks in lots of styles, from outlandish animals to pretty, understated florals. There’s a little something for everyone. Knee highs are also a great choice if you want to make your socks your “statement piece” in your outfit. They make it easy to go bold!
Tip #3: Cuff ’em!
OK, before long it’s going to get really cold out. No more shorts or dresses — it’s time for pants. And how do you show off your cool socks when you’re wearing pants? By cuffing those pants.
We have loved that cuffing has been super popular over the past few years, and the trend is still going strong. Check out this cool blog post on four ways to cuff your pants. All those methods look stylish, and they help you show off your fun socks underneath. We love choosing a really bright, bold pattern to add a pop of color to this type of outfit.
