from paper sky owner to sock fairy

Let us proudly introduce Jessica Tringali, our graphic designer and sock fairy! Locals in our hometown of San Luis Obispo, California, may recognize the bubbly Jessica from another downtown shop, Paper Sky, a stationery and wedding invitation store she owned and operated for many years. We like to think of it as a Paper Sky-Sock Drawer team-up!
“We always had this camaraderie downtown being women store owners,” Jessica said.
Brooke English, owner and founder of The Sock Drawer, echoed the same warm and fuzzy sentiments, reminiscing about being in her 20s and opening a downtown business.
“I looked up to Jess as a fellow young ‘girlboss,’” she said. “We also used to have rival window displays!”
In fact, we’ve heard from several folks in the area who suspected Jessica had started working with The Sock Drawer when they noticed our recent shop window displays, filled with her signature style! She’s pictured here in front of our back to school theme, and she said doing windows may be her favorite part of her role as a sock fairy.
Jessica’s affinity for all things paper also carried over into photography for our back to school event. She created all the paper objects seen here by hand, building a colorful, crafty aesthetic that we loved for a school campaign!
Jessica also does lots of digital graphic design work for our website, social media and more.
“Jess’ work has always been so creative and inspirational and colorful, both at Paper Sky and with us,” Brooke said. “It felt like an amazing turn of fate when she joined our team because our styles have meshed really well. We just love having a graphic designer who really understands and captures who we are at The Sock Drawer.”
